Greetings From An Old Friend
So after after four months you'll be pleased to know I'm back from whatever it is I've been doing for four months. And as way of apology for being away for so so long I've got not one but two articles for you! Although I posted one of them on The Huffington Post way back when in January but forgot to upload it here. Hopefully our next meeting will be sooner, goodbye.
06:55, 20th April 2012 The Most Important News Of The Day
Well it's been three weeks since I've posted and I've got three things to get off my chest!:
1) You've probably noticed a little change in the design of the website as I reckoned the old one was a tad dull. In complete contrast though this design is incredibly loud (I've been working on it for three hours, imagine how much of a headache I now have). I've also deleted the 'Articles' page and set up a blog instead as it became apparent that the Articles page wasn't fit for purpose and finding articles was more difficult than it should be. 2) I'm now somewhat inexplicably a blogger for The Huffington Post, you can read my articles here. I'll be blogging for them about once a fortnight on all manner of things and I'll also post the articles up on here. However this means that from now on I'll only be putting up original articles about once a month, and as my blog for THP is only meant to be between 500-800 words any long-winded rants/articles/propaganda belong here! 3) The first article I wrote for THP is now on my blog! Read it. NOW. P.S. I wrote in my last article about how much of a bell-end Mark Wright from TOWIE is and yet unbelievably he managed to come second on I'm A Celebrity. Everyone who voted for him will regret it when they have to heard his 'brain damaged child' voice during every Iceland commercial during the next series of IAC. Don't say I didn't warn you. And on that charming note, goodbye. 01:45, 7th December 2011 I'm Barely A Celebrity... Get Me In There!
I've written a quick and concise review of the launch of yesterday's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! that you may be interested in reading. Beware, I talk about one of the most odious people on the box in it: Mark Wright.
21:55, 14th November 2011 One Less Job(s)
OK so I'm living up to my reputation and the feminism article is still in progress, yes, about three months after I first drafted it. In fairness though I am half-way through it but surprise surprise, feminism is a pretty lengthy topic. Brace yourselves for 5k+ words (seriously) about feminism in comedy, TV and films. In the meantime amuse yourselves with an article about why I think the media's hysterical attitude to Steve Jobs' death is completely undeserved. Over and out.
19:25, 28th October 2011 Dare To Laugh
OK so the promised feminism article has to wait a teensy bit longer as the 10th anniversary of the MOST IMPORTANT DAY IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE EVER beckons, in memoriam I've written a piece on whether we should laugh about vulnerable people and tragedies, enjoy.
21:22, 6th September 2011 Big Brother's Become A Big Bother
So to provide company to the two articles I've already put up, but which were written a couple of years ago, I've put up my thoughts on the launch night of Celebrity Big Brother 2011! I am of course aware that the show was broadcast nearly six days ago but I did have a long weekend away in London and I only had a chance to start writing it on Monday. This is the point where I'd say that good things come to those who wait but I am not a particularly good reviewer and so the article is admittedly a bit lacklustre. Also if you were to scroll down this page a bit it does say that the first new article is going to be about feminism in modern day TV and I can assure you that it's coming very soon!
00:24, 24th August 2011 Me, Myself & I
I've updated the Me, Myself & I section (I felt the word 'About' was a bit overused on websites) so have a glance if you so dare.
16:45, 15th August 2011 The Long-Awaited First Article
You'll all be acutely excited to know that my first article, about feminism in modern day television, film and comedy will be up in a couple of days. It will blow your mind in the same way that my mind was blown when I discovered that Jedward had been given permission to record a second album, and it will probably result in the same mass hysteria and pain.
13:19, 15th August 2011 Hello
Apologies in advance if in your search for pictures of cats that look like Hitler you stumbled upon this site. I have to warn you, the vivid eloquence will grab you and force you to return to this site again and again for articles that even the Daily Star would consider lowbrow. I occasionly have a lapse in judgement and write articles about issues that matter, but I can assure you that this will not be a common occurrence. I've already put up two of the pieces I've written in recent years, and despite even my own hubristic opinions of my writing abilities, I have to say that they don't cut the mustard, but things can only get better. So sit back, temporarily suspend judgement and enjoy!
